The National Industrial Biotechnology Facility (NIBF) will be utilised for the development of flexible fermentation and downstream processing capability, marine fermenters and associated facilities to support process development and scale up.
National Industrial Biotechnology Facility
TT were awarded this prestigious fast track turnkey contract for the detailed design, construction and commissioning of the bioprocessing facility, biolaboratories, cleanrooms, biotechnology processing equipment and clean/critical utility systems.
The project comprised of 5, 50, 750 litre fermenters, with bespoke and novel downstream processing equipment such as oscillatory baffle flow reactors and high shear homogenisers.
TT’s in-house process engineering division were also responsible for the selection and integration of leading edge advanced technology laboratory (HPGLC, GCMS, LCMS) and test instruments (NIR).
State of the art DCS systems were utilised for process controls and data capture for scale up, enabling worldwide interfacing and knowledge exchange with universities.
