TT Complete 1st Phase Expansion of Encap Drug
Delivery
TT, in partnership with Encap Drug Delivery, has completed the first phase
of the next extension at Encap Drug Delivery in Livingston by completing
a major new 200m² laboratory suite which was declared open on 29th April
2008.
The brief was to deliver an entire facility which would ensure Production Quality and Certainty for a growing company. TT - East Kilbride completed the existing facility in March 2005 and were awarded the £1.5m extension works, based on a comprehensive tender and prior knowledge. The project installation, comprising two phases, will deliver 1350m² of grade D clean rooms, labs, offices, warehouse and a link corridor for connection to the existing facility.
The 2nd Phase is due for completion in July 2008. This new facility will include two separate suites for large-scale pharmaceutical processing. One suite will be dedicated to the manufacture of products requiring special handling (e.g. high potency and anti-cancer products).
Encap was established in Livingston, Scotland in 1989 and has become an acknowledged world leader in pharmaceutical development and manufacture in its speciality area of liquid-filled capsules. The company already has a major success story in being the European manufacturing site for five commercial products.
The project was led and delivered by the TT East Kilbride office using a consistent approach from tender through detailed design to delivery. This focussed team effort resulted in Encap Drug Delivery selecting TT over local and national competition.
